In 2022, as part of the fellowship at the Academy for Theater and Digitality in Dortmund, we developed a system that translates movements into sounds. A self-built motion suit captures the movements of dancers and sends the data to a machine learning system that analyzes it and generates sounds from it. The research project was called MergingEntities.

In the project CapturedBodies we are investigating how the individual movement material of four dancers changes when it simultaneously becomes sound material through technical body modification and the classical boundary between choreography and composition dissolves. We are interested in the creative potential of the technical extension of the body into a cyborg and the danger of surveillance and manipulation in the Internet of Bodies.
